By Ashley Sapir-Lathrop

For many years I fought the dark… from monsters in the closet to internal gremlins. My winter survival toolkit always focused on how to bring sunshine and light to the short days & long nights of winter; until I deliciously awakened to the magic of the dark and the deep nourishment residing there.

As Solstice beckons, just around the corner, we will celebrate the lengthening of days. Yet those of us who live in the northern hemisphere know that while the days begin to lengthen we have many months of winter ahead of us. Can we squish our toes in the juicy darkness while anchoring ourselves to the light within? As Solstice approaches I invite you to push your edges of how you experience the dark. I’m going to let you in on some of my favorite ways!!

We’ll dive deep into this on 19 December in my Solstice Circle with Mind Oasis. I hope you’ll consider joining us!

The light will return, and meanwhile, we can have fun with the dark:

  • Playing with plant allies
  • Tarot cards
  • Dreamwork
  • Moon milk (join our Solstice circle to learn my recipe & the health benefits)
  • Journaling
  • Listening to and making music (I made you a Solstice playlist)
